I wanted to explain that the new logo is a zoomed out ,vectorization of the in-game map layout. You have the two base camps on each end of the map. Separated by the river in the middle.

Ohhhh, interesting. Didn't know the dude work for S2 and Riot Games. Gona read the GameInformer article tomorrow, bit too drunk + it's a lot of text for now. When the guy went to work for Valve I didn't actually expect to to be working on DotA 2. I just thought he would go and do something RTS, but not a sequel.

Where do you apply for beta?

Most things I find for beta applications for dota seem.... phishy.

I have no recollection where I applied, I just remember making up a bunch of stuff about how much I'd played DOTA and how much gold I used to make etc.

So that's helpful.

Asks you to sign into steam and that's it. The page used to fail for me and I actually gave in trying to sign up because I thought it was broken. Just turns out there is no acknowledgment that you have signed up. Then yesterday I got an E-Mail saying I was accepted for beta and that DotA would be listed in my steam games, and it was.
