So yeah, airsoft gun upgrades. What do I want and why? Wouldn't mind a higher voltage battery, will need to run wires into the stock for that or tape it to something stupid, will cross that bridge when I get to it. What supporting work is generally required? What can I do to the T89 for cheap etc? General airsoft guntinker knowledge thread I guess. I've got a version 8 gearbox (details - http://freedomairsof...oes-my-gun-have) and I've gotta find the damn gun to work out if I'll need new gears - I sharpened the sprocket on lerri's motor at the weekender. This'll be paid for by excess student loan money late jan probably :D gotta fight back against Bestow's new nerf arsenal. \(º_°)/¯

Those are your gears. If I remember right you sometimes need to upgrade gears to stop them stripping with the higher ROF from the battery upgrade. TM released the folding stock version of the T89 a while back so you might be able to get a folder which would be pretty easy to attach a battery to and sort the wires out (without drilling holes in your full stock)

Is it worth getting a sexy tight barrel while I'm at it? The spring is pretty good for complying with chrono rules, but fps was about 260-270 with .23s which feels a bit sad when you're hosing someone and they're walking away.

Some people used to swear by their super tight barrels but I'm not really sure what they actually do. All I remember is that people usually get tighter barrels when they get an upgraded spring because real men are too manly for stock parts, but not manly enough for paintball. The Systema motor is super expensive because Systema make airsoft for military training rather than normal airsofting, so they perform best when you leave the price tag on so everyone can see it

Sounds good. Don't believe that guff about tighter barrels giving your more accuracy though. You're shooting plastic balls with a battery powered air pump
